I. Overall purpose

Assists Operations Director, AOM and site managers in North Africa and West Africa region with the administration and implementation of the OPS region and QHSE procedures for all the projects.
The role of the QHSE Coordinator NAWA is to:

  • Permanently assess risk of our operations
  • Propose and implement adequate plan and action to limit the risk
  • Plan trainings, train people on site
  • In order to improve NAWA's QHSE level, use the corporate tools such as audits, reports, KPI's

He/She reports to the Managing Director and cooperate closely with Operations Director.

II. Core duties and responsabilities
  • Co-ordination of Regional Management Office Administration
  • Compiles all East Africa projects & monthly QHSE reports and AIP projects sites as and when required
  • Defines and maintains the QHSE management filing system
  • Maintains all AIP QHSE documentation e.g. QMS Procedures, Service Manual and EH&S BOP's
  • Maintains all HSE spill and accident reports
  • Collate EH&S statistics for Monthly Reporting
  • Carry out QHSE Internal Audits where required on an annual basis and close corrective and preventive actions
  • Identifying & implementing improvements on an ongoing basis in conjunction with AIP QHSE staff Middle East
  • Conduct Operations and QHSE audits on all Company International Project job sites in Africa
  • Writes reports and tabulates Non Conformity Registers after each site visit
  • Follow up on all audit Non Conformity Registers on a monthly basis
  • Assists site management with problems they may incur with disruptive faculties within Middle East office
  • Coordinates with site managers and supervisors for time of visits and follow ups
  • Writes monthly reports giving up to date information of all site auditing for the Company Africa
  • Coordinates the monthly EH S Reporting templates between African sites and QHSE Department in Middle East office and ensures timely delivery of the results
  • Liaises with all African sites on all Operations and QHSE matters
  • Ensures all African site adhere to Company Quality Management procedures and follows Best Operating Practices
  • Keeps a hard copy record of all auditing reports of all African sites
III. Other Responsibilities and requirements
  • Assist with implementation of Aggreko QHSE procedures at depot level when required. Liaise with Central QHSE manager and team to update procedures and rules
  • Preparation of AI Procedures when required
  • Any other duties considered essential for the effective running of operational and QHSE services
  • Reports any major anomalies seen or found in African sites directly to Operations Director.
  • Specific mission required by managing director.
IV. Job Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's to Master's degree in relevant field from a renowned business school or university
  • Formal training or completion of specialized courses in QHSE auditing and Risk Management
  • 8+ years experience in the QHSE systems management
  • In-depth knowledge of QHSE in engineering and/or Oil & Gas industry
  • French or English mother tongue with command of the second language
  • Strong PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • An effective administrator well organised, methodical, possibly with an accounting background

  • Strong Ability to adapt QHSE knowledge's to various domains (Electrics, Gas & Oil, .)
